Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Elva Franco arrived in the United States at the age of 14. Although she initially found it difficult to adjust to a new lifestyle, Elva managed to succeed academically; her efforts to progress were validated when she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Santa Clara University in 2012. During her time at Santa Clara, Elva volunteered with several non-profit organizations, partaking in roles such as event planning, bookkeeping, and tutoring.
Soon after Elva graduated from Santa Clara, she joined Just, Gurr & Associates. Since then, she has continued to volunteer her time to local charities, helping them prepare individual income tax returns for low-income families living in the Bay Area. Elva completed the CPA exams in November 2015 and became a CPA in March 2016. When she is not studying, volunteering, or working, Elva spends her time reading, hiking, attending soccer matches and concerts, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her two Pomeranian dogs.
